I'm a Spanish tutor and a native Spanish speaker, and I'm intimately familiar with the language and culture. I believe helping students learn about the culture is advantageous because students find it interesting, and thus they are more motivated to learn the language. When I work with students, I prioritize cultivating environment where students feel comfortable being themselves and communicating openly, which is important for effective and efficient learning. I'm also very optimistic and I love teaching. I set up sessions based on the individual learning style and needs of my students. I went to one of Colombia's top universities, where I earned my bachelor's degree in philosophy and humanities and my graduate degree in higher education with a philosophy emphasis. I was very successful as a higher education student, achieving high GPAs, scholarships, and academic honors. I have six years of experience tutoring Spanish up through the college level. I also have experience helping students learn Latin American literature and modern and contemporary philosophy. In addition, I have been a philosophy researcher, publishing academic articles and speaking in symposiums. At the corporate level, I have taught Spanish for employees of various different organizations.
